General

Yes of course, you are very welcome to visit our showroom in central Norwich.

You can try all our desks to test the quality and sturdiness for yourself, and various seating options as well as check out lots of the accessories too.

There’s on-street parking just outside the building and along Heigham Street as well as 2 hours free parking for shoppers, diagonally opposite.

Let us know if you’re visiting by train and we’ll pick you up from the station.

Products we hold in stock can be bought and taken away on the day.  If you have something specific in mind get in touch before you visit to make sure it’s in stock.

Pre-pandemic you could trial a desk before purchasing but unfortunately we’ve had to suspended this offer and are not sure whether it will be reinstated. Get in touch if you’d like to be kept up to date with any changes.

Desks

A sit-stand desk or standing desk adjusts to allow you to change your working height from sitting to standing and anywhere in between so that you can enjoy a fully flexible, ergonomic workplace and all the benefits that active working brings to the office environment.

There are different types of height adjustable desk, including crank-operated, pneumatic and electric as well as standing desk converters. Electric desks are the most popular as they are quicker and more convenient to adjust.

Yes, the Skyflo and Maribo adjustable height desk frames are both available to purchase as a frame only option.

If you’d like to reuse your existing desktop on a Skyflo standing desk frame, choose the Skyflo Compact option if your desk 1400mm or less wide.

The standard Skyflo frame can be extended to a maximum width of 1940mm to accommodate desktops up to 2400mm wide.

Maribo four leg frame can accommodate desktops with a minimum depth of 850mm (less if you don’t need to use a clamp fixed monitor arm at the rear of the desktop).

Ease of desk assembly varies enormously, from complicated and near impossible to a few simple steps and a quick and easy process.

Desks with the Skyflo frame (unless they are particularly long or heavy) are delivered semi-assembled. The central bar is attached to the underside of the desktop before dispatching. All that’s left to do is secure the leg columns, attach the feet, screw fix the control box and height adjustment panel into the pre-drilled positions. Once the desk is turned the right side up it’s ready of action.

No specialist tools required however, it’s important to note that the time it takes to assemble is solely dependent on ability!

Comprehensive assembly instructions are provided for all desks.

All desks come with an intuitive control panel, push down to move down and pull up to raise the desk.  The new Red Dot Design award winning control panel features memory positions, key lock, in-built anti-collision sensor and auto drive via app control.

All  Sisu solid wood desks come with the top of the range control panel as standard.

All our height adjustable desks come with a warranty that covers the frame construction, material and production defects which also includes the electrical components.

Our solid wood desktops are handmade by craftsmen in the UK and come with a full year guarantee. We pride ourselves on our premium quality products but we also know that sometimes problems occur. Issues as a result of faulty workmanship would always become apparent within the first 12 month period and would be be fully covered.

Yes, our desk assembly service is available in London, both central London and greater London.

In fact the service is available nationally.  We have customers nationwide including Brighton, Leeds, Cambridge, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Pricing varies depending on location and we do try to piggy back deliveries so that we can offer the best prices.

Most desktops (Skyflo frame) are supplied with the central bar pre-attached and the control panel positioning pre-drilled for quick assembly.   We’re happy to pre-drill accessories fixing holes too.
Large, heavy desktops depending on the delivery service, will either have the bar pre-attached too or pre-drilled positioning with the bar supplied separately. Again we’ll liaise with you so that the assembly process is as quick and simple as possible.

Yes of course, we send out small samples by post.

Seating

Active seating allows and/or encourages you to be active even when you’re sitting.  This added flexibility and movement is good for the body and can make some seated tasks easier to perform.

All HAG seating has a 10-year warranty.

Aeris seating comes with a 3-year warranty.

The HAG Capisco 8106 has a cushioned seat and backrest and is fully upholstered.
The Capisco Puls chair has a plastic seat and backrest with two seat cushioning options:-

the 8010 model that has an upholstered sitting panel in the centre of the seat and
the 8020 version that has a removable seat cushion that covers the whole seat.

The additional padding on the 8020 means it’s more comfortable than the 8010 when perching.

The Capisco 8106 in black is usually a stock item as well as the black and white Capisco Puls chairs and are ready to ship in 2-3 working days.
Delivery of HÅG chairs varies depending on the design chosen and the choice of upholstery fabric.
Lead times vary for special order chairs, see each product page for specific lead times.
HÅG Capisco and Capisco Puls chairs are delivered boxed and either fully assembled or needing minimal assembly.
Yes of course, we will arrange for samples to be sent to you.

The HAG Capisco and Capisco Puls have a European Standard certification based on 8- hours use daily for up to 110kg (17.3 stone).

Whereas the HAG SoFi and HAG Futu have a British Standard certification for more than 8 hours daily use for up to 150kg (23.6 stone)

Delivery

We offer free shipping to UK mainland addresses.

International customers are welcome to arrange collection themselves and we’ll work closely with you to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible.

Historically we have worked with freight forwarding companies and couriers to offer international delivery at an additional charge but with increasing shipping costs and ‘red tape’ we’ve suspending this service for the time being, apologies for the inconvenience

We’re all used to being able to order online for next day delivery and we do offer dispatch of stock items within 24/48 hours, but we’re not a “stack em high, ship em out quick” kinda company.

Even our stock items are not always prepacked just in case a customer wants to see images before completing their purchase.

We dispatch orders on next day delivery with FedEx Express on a pre 12 noon service, so that you don’t have to wait around all day for delivery.

Lead-time for made-to-order and custom products is normally between 3-6 weeks. On occasions slightly longer, but we’ll keep you updated.

If you’ve ordered an item that’s in stock we’ll be in touch with an update on dispatch and delivery within 24 hours of you placing your order.  Orders placed over the weekend will be dispatched on Tuesday for delivery on Wednesday.

If your order arrives damaged you must contact us by phone 01603 951595 or email hello@flomtionstudio.com within 24 hours of receipt, so that we can arrange for a replacement to be sent and return of the faulty item.

Your goods will be delivered by courier (unless you’ve ordered a set-up service) before 12 noon.

Timed deliveries can be arranged at an additional charge. The options are before 9am and 10am.

Yes you can try a desk before you buy!

We offer a free desk trial within 30 miles of Norwich. If you would like to book a trial you can do so via the following form here.

No catch.  A free two week desk trial is available within 30 miles of Norwich.  We deliver, set up and collect again if you decide not to keep the desk, all completely free of charge.

If you decide that the desk isn’t for you, let us know before the end of the two week trial so that we can arrange collection.

We will personally deliver and collect any unwanted trial items within 30 miles of Norwich.

Returns

We want all our customers to be completely happy with their purchases but we also understand that sometimes the product just doesn’t fit. That’s why we make the whole process easy.

Trouble shooting

Even though our desk frames are produced to the highest standard, sometimes things just don’t go according to plan!

Instructions for setting an upper or lower height limit via the DPG1C desk control panel

Desk height limits

In case the desk cannot be operated in its entire span (eg a shelf is blocking the upwards movement or a filing cabinet is placed under the desk and blocking the downwards movement), it is possible to set an upper limit for the desk height.

Note
It must always be possible to drive the desk to its minimum height in case initialisation is required.  During initialisation items placed under the desk must be moved.

Setting upper limit

  1. Adjust desk to the maximum allowable height
  2. Press the Bluetooth button and tilt the control panel UP at the same time for 8 seconds until the light flashes.
  3. Release the Bluetooth button and the control panel tilt
  4. The new upper heigh limit should be set

Setting lower limit

  1. Adjust desk to the minimum allowable height
  2. Press the Bluetooth button and tilt the control panel DOWN at the same time for 8 seconds until the light flashes.
  3. Release the Bluetooth button and the control panel tilt
  4. The new lower height limit should be set

Instructions below for customers who purchased a desk with the Aura frame.

Aura frame reset instructions – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When your desk is assembled for the first time, it is important to reset the legs/columns before use – this process synchronises the columns and ensures they move in unison.

The arrow shape buttons on the up/down height controller indicate the direction of movement and the desk will only move when a control button is pressed.
It is important to reset your desk when:

• it’s been moved (the desk should be at its lowest height when moved)
• it’s not level
• it’s not been reset for a month

Either take the desk down to its lowest position by pressing the down button or press both height control arrow buttons at the same time, continue pressing until both columns are in the lowest position. Continue pressing until you hear a beep sound, this signals the reset is complete and the desk is ready to use.

If your desk stops moving try these simple checks before getting in touch with us:

  • Check the power connection.
  • Check that all the cables are connected correctly.
  • Check the fuse in the power plug.
  • Check that the height controller is connected.
  • Disconnect all the cabling, reconnect and test again.
